Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are citizen's or some organization initiated center that operate independently from any form of government involvement or support, mainly out of donations. The term owes its origin from the United Nations Organization, and usually refers to organizations that are not a part of a government set up and are neither traditional for-profit business enterprises.Even in instances whereby NGOs are funded totally or partially by governments, the NGO maintains nongovernmental tag by not including government representatives and not providing membership to such delegates in the organization.

Non Governmental Organisation is an umbrella term used for variety of organizations ranging from cultural, educational, social etc, that basically deal in social work for various sectors of society. These organizations  are primarily self funded or are supported by some agencies other than governmental. These organisations work for the welfare of the under-priviledged and destitute people of the society.

They work towards making the difference in the lives of people who are not as fortunate as others.
